An electrical circuit is the foundation of modern technology. From phones and computers to electric cars and automated factories, they’re all powered by some form of circuits. This is why circuits are often backed up with redundancy – extra components that can take over if the first component fails. If you’ve ever noticed that a single failed component can cause a whole circuit to stop working, you’ve seen firsthand how important these redundant components can be.

The circuits inside your phone or computer are vastly more complex than the ones powering something as simple as a light bulb, but at their core, they still rely on the same basic principles.
